Hi, I'm Vanessa Martin, a first-year graduate student at Kennesaw State University, studying Professional Writing, and preparing to teach my first English 1101 courses in the fall. Here, you can find my blog, where I reflect upon theories surrounding pedagogical strategies and practices of First-Year Composition courses, as well as teaching materials and my creative writing portfolio. 

Both of my FYC course are designed with storytelling in mind. In ENGL 1101, students will learn how to express their own stories through written word, as well as how stories impact their every day lives through a rhetorical lens.  In ENGL 1102, students will research the origins and effects of prevalent stories within their communities, and whether these stories hold any truth.
